My UX DESIGN PROCESS - design thinking method

My process for creating a better user experience is based on Stanford D.School’s 5 stage Design Thinking method.
The phases are shown below:

empathiZe

Gain understanding of the problem you are trying to solve by creating empathy with your users. This phase is the research gathering stage where primary research (user interviews, contextual inquiry) and secondary research (literature review, competitive analysis) is conducted.

DEFINE

In this phase the research findings are synthesised and a problem from the user’s point of view starts to emerge. Storyboards, empathy maps, personas and other tools help define the problem

IDEATE

Now the brainstorming begins about any and all possible solutions for the problem defined in phase two. This is where sketching, wireframing, sitemaps, task flow diagrams and other elements are produced to explore as many solutions as possible before moving forward with one for further testing.

PROTOTYPE

After choosing a solution to move forward with, the next step is to build a prototype of that solution for users to test.

TEST

Finally, test the prototype with users. Usability testing, A/B testing, and other tests help identify high priority iterations needed for the next version of the product.

REPEAT. REPEAT. REPEAT

Continue the process and make iterations as necessary.
